According to the Pittsburgh Steelers, running back Trey Edmunds was boosted to the active/inactive roster from the practice squad on Saturday.
Edmunds’ status for game day will be announced 90 minutes before kickoff, but expect he’ll be active. He’s next man up with fullback Derek Watt and safety Marcus Allen, heavy contributors to special teams, ruled out for Week 5.
In limited participation last year, Edmunds had 92 yards rushing and 48 receiving. The highlight of his season was an interception on a fake punt against the Los Angeles Rams. Steelers.com has the replay — watch it here.
Following the Steelers-Eagles game, Edmunds will automatically head back to the practice squad without dealing with the waivers process.
