Coach Tomlin said Dwayne Haskins will start at QB on Friday night.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media on Wednesday morning and announced that Dwayne Haskins will be the starting quarterback on Friday when the Steelers take on the Carolina Panthers in the team’s final preseason game.
This will be Haskins’ first opportunity to start during the preseason and his best opportunity to impress the coaches ahead of the first regular-season game.
Unfortunately, Haskins isn’t very likely to have many starters on offense with him and the Panthers will probably be resting most of their defensive starters. Nevertheless, this should be the best look coaches and fans will get of Haskins as they sort out the depth chart.
Tomlin also said Mason Rudolph and Ben Roethlisberger won’t play at all, meaning Haskins will split the game with Joshua Dobbs. The move of resting Rudolph tells me there’s no way Haskins can do any better than third on the depth chart and might actually be on the roster bubble as he battles with Dobbs for the No. 3 spot.
