Michigan State football got some positive news on Wednesday in regards to an offensive lineman returning for another season.
Kristian Phillips took to social media platform X to confirm he’ll “run it back” for another season at Michigan State. There wasn’t any known indication that Phillips would be leaving Michigan State but in today’s world of college football, any and all players could take off via the transfer portal.
Phillips was expected to start for the Spartans this season at right guard but a season-ending injury early in the year limited him to only one game this past season. He will enter next year as a likely starter again.
Phillips will be a redshirt junior next year, but could apply for a medical redshirt and still have three years of eligibility should he choose to do so. Regardless, this is a positive to have Phillips coming back for Michigan State heading into 2025.
