Michigan State women’s basketball remained perfect on Sunday with an impressive ranked win over Iowa.
The Spartans used a strong fourth quarter to top the Hawkeyes, 68-66, at the Breslin Center on Sunday. The win improved Michigan State to 10-0 on the year and 1-0 in conference play.
Michigan State trailed at halftime and entered the fourth quarter down by a narrow margin of three points. The Spartans were able to outscore Iowa 19-14 in the final frame, though, to earn the win.
Michigan State was led in scoring by Julia Ayrault, who finished the game with 19 points. Behind her was Grace VanSlooten (14 points) and Nyla Hampton (13 points).
Michigan State will return to the court on Thursday against Montana in the West Palm Beach Classic.
