Sixers to sign G League Ignite F Michael Foster Jr. to a free agent deal

The Philadelphia 76ers will sign G League Ignite forward Michael Foster Jr. to a free-agent deal.

The 2022 NBA draft is a wrap. The Philadelphia 76ers made their move by trading their No. 23 pick along with respected veteran Danny Green to the Memphis Grizzlies in order to acquire De’Anthony Melton to help the team move forward on a title chase right now.

With that being said, now is the time to look at the undrafted free agents. The team already signed St. John’s Julian Champagnie to a two-way deal and now they will sign another undrafted guard out of the G League.

The Sixers will sign G League Ignite guard Michael Foster Jr. to a free-agent deal. He averaged 16.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks while shooting 44.4% in 15 games during the G League Ignite Tour in the 2021-22 season.

Foster Jr. figures to join the team’s Las Vegas Summer League squad that begins on July 7. That will give him an opportunity to learn his new team while also being able to make his stamp and prove his worth at the NBA level.
