It’s always helpful for an NBA team to have some trade assets in its back pocket to make moves that can help it along the journey toward winning a championship.
The Philadelphia 76ers are never afraid to make big moves, see James Harden, and team president Daryl Morey is always looking to make the next big move that helps the Sixers win a title.
One team likely to have some big names on the market is the Brooklyn Nets, who continue to deal with a tumultuous start. Kevin Durant could very well soon be back on the trade market. He discussed his reasoning for asking for a trade, to begin with, before pulling it back and trying against in Brooklyn.
HoopsHype ranked all 30 teams based on the trade assets they have to offer in a deal and the Sixers are ranked 17th on that list:
The Sixers have three core players in Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and James Harden all of whom bring a ton of value to the Sixers on the court and in terms of their trade value. They lack other future promising young talent and only have four of their own first-round picks over the next seven drafts, only one of which they can trade at the moment. If they need to make significant changes, it may have to start with moving one of their top players.
There have been some Durant to Philadelphia rumors popping up again, but the Sixers don’t really have much to offer. It’s highly unlikely they will want to give up Tyrese Maxey. Obviously, Joel Embiid is untouchable. And they already acquired Harden from the Nets.
