Sixers big man Joel Embiid fined $25K for obscene gesture vs. Hawks

Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid has been fined $25,000 for his actions.

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to knock off the Atlanta Hawks at home on Monday night, but it did not come without some drama involving their superstar center.

While Sixers big man Joel Embiid was dribbling out the clock and finishing up one of the more dominant games of his career in the win over the Hawks, he had the ball stolen from him by Kevin Huerter as there was still some time left on the clock. Embiid did not like what he did and he gave Huerter what appeared to be the middle finger in disgust.

The NBA then reviewed the play and decided to fine Embiid $25,000 for his actions.

Embiid scored a career-high 49 points in the win as he and the Sixers did get the last laugh, but $25,000 is still a hefty chunk of change for flipping the bird.

The Sixers are currently in Cleveland preparing for Andre Drummond and the Cavaliers looking to end a 6-game road losing skid. Tipoff from Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse is set for 7:00 p.m. EST. [lawrence-related id=26511,26523,26503]
