Several LSU offensive linemen reportedly in quarantine

The report suggested that either the LSU offensive linemen tested positive or were determined to have high-risk exposure.

The defending national champion LSU Tigers are set to open the 2020 season on Sept. 26 against Mississippi State, but have been faced with a problem within the offensive line due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On Wednesday, a report from The Advocate surfaced that all but four offensive linemen from LSU tested positive for COVID-19.

The report suggested that either the players tested positive or were determined to have high-risk exposure.

Per the SEC protocol, any player who tests positive must isolate for at least 10 days after the positive test. Any player with high-risk exposure must quarantine for 14 days.

Later in the day on Wednesday, LSU released a practice video showing at least five offensive linemen working, meaning 13 were sidelined.

This is obviously a blow to LSU head coach Ed Orgeron as he works to find his best offensive line unit. However, the positive is the season doesn’t begin for another month, so the Tigers do have some time to work with.

The Tigers are replacing four starters from last season’s national championship team this fall, and are already up against tall odds after all the talent the team lost after the title game victory back in January.
