Rome Odunze added to Chicago Bears’ injury report with hip issue

The Chicago Bears added former Washington football wide receiver Rome Odunze to the injury report on Thursday ahead of their Week 4 game.

One of the stars of last season’s Washington Huskies team is banged up heading into Week 4 of the NFL season.

Wide receiver Rome Odunze was added to the Chicago Bears injury report on Thursday with a hip injury. He was limited at practice, which could affect his availability for the Bears’ game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Odunze is coming off the best game of his young career, as he racked up 6 receptions for 112 yards and his first career touchdown last week against the Indianapolis Colts. The Rams were set to present Odunze with another big opportunity, as Los Angeles has struggled with injuries defensively.

The duo of Odunze and quarterback Caleb Williams has brought Chicago their first taste of offensive optimism in years, but it was clear during the first two games of the season that the two rookies were still developing their chemistry. Odunze has taken a step forward with veteran Keenan Allen out with a heel injury.

Allen was also limited on Thursday as he works back from that issue, potentially leaving DJ Moore as the last receiver standing of the Bears’ trio.

Odunze also sprained his MCL in the season opener against the Tennessee Titans, but has been playing through the issue, just as he did in 2023 for the Huskies when he played against Oregon with a punctured lung.

Bears teammates Coleman Shelton and Kyler Gordon would be the only Huskies representatives in the game on Sunday if Odunze is forced to miss time, as the Rams do not have an alum on the roster.
