Rockets run it back with ticketing promo around 2022 draft lottery

One year after a successful ticketing promotion prior to the 2021 NBA draft lottery, the Rockets have launched a similar program in 2022. Will it bring the same good fortune?

One year after unveiling a successful ticketing promotion prior to the 2021 NBA draft lottery, the Rockets are hopeful that a comparable program in 2022 could bring similar luck to the franchise and its fans.

With the newly released “Easy as 1, 2, 3” plan, fans can purchase 10 tickets to games in the 2022-23 season for only $123, total. Ticket buyers can choose from 30 games and in various amounts — i.e. 10 tickets to one game, five tickets to two games, two tickets to five games, etc.

There is also, however, a potential bonus. Should Houston secure a top-three pick in the 2022 NBA draft — which has a slightly greater than 40% chance of happening (lottery odds) — each ticket package buyer gets access to a special Rockets autograph signing session. The date, location, and players involved in that session will be decided at a later time.

The concept is similar to the “Keeping It 100” plan from 2021, which featured 10 ticket vouchers for $100 and the bonus of getting a Nike player jersey, should the first-round pick land in the top four. Ultimately, Houston came in at No. 2 overall in the 2021 NBA draft, and the Rockets used that to select rookie Jalen Green. From there, many fans were able to get his rookie jersey effectively for free, as part of the promotion.

Will that concept bring similar luck in 2022? Stay tuned. The 2022 NBA draft lottery is rapidly approaching on Tuesday, May 17, which understandably is the deadline for this particular promo.
