Report: Washington expected to sign OL David Steinmetz to add depth

Washington is looking to add depth to the offensive line, and they’ve brought several players in during training camp to work out.

The Washington Football Team is taking a step towards addressing their offensive line depth issue, signed OL David Steinmetz, according to Sam Fortier.

Steinmetz was a member of the Houston Texans practice squad in 2019, and he has yet to play any NFL snaps. He is a big lineman who stands at 6-foot-7, 320 pounds, and can bring some needed depth to the Washington front line during training camp.

According to Julie Donaldson, the signing is supposed to take place on Friday night, ahead of Saturday’s practice in Washington.

With a desire to shuffle lineman around and find some pieces that fit, there is not yet word on where Steinmetz could fit in, but he will likely spend the next couple of weeks in Washington, at the least.
