New York Giants fans are all in accord. They want the team to spend their free agent bucks on former Pro Bowl wide receiver Kenny Golladay.
The team is set to meet with Golladay to determine if he is a) fit and b) a fit. Golladay missed 11 games last season to hamstring and hip ailments and is now seeking big bucks in free agency.
Many teams are shying away. Several teams that needed wide receiver help have already bypassed Golliday for other options. The Giants plan to swoop in now and — if the conditions are right — put Golliday’s name on a contract.
The Giants’ players are all for the team signing the 6-foot-5, 214-pounder who has been one of the league’s top playmakers the past several years, reports Zack Rosenblatt.
“We need him,” one current player told NJ Advance Media, speaking on the condition of anonymity. Multiple other players expressed a similar sentiment, that they’d like the Giants to bring in a player of Golladay’s caliber.
Saquon Barkley is intrigued at the possibility too, it seems. A person familiar with the star running back’s thinking told NJ Advance Media he believes that Barkley “badly” wants the Giants to sign Golladay. Barkley hasn’t exactly hid that on social media either.
Wednesday, Barkley favorited multiple tweets about the possibility that the Giants would be signing Golladay and retweeted one tweet that said “RT (retweet) if you want the Giants to sign WR Kenny Golladay today.”
Barkley also retweeted Giants Wire earlier this week when we photoshopped an image of Golladay in a Giants uniform.

The push is on to add Golliday, who appears to be a a solid compliment to the Giants’ other receivers, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton.
The issue should be resolved shortly after the Giants meet with Golladay. If they can’t come to an agreement, there are plenty of options in the upcoming draft, but it would be ideal for the Giants to land both Golladay and a rookie stud receiver to help out third-year quarterback Daniel Jones.
