The Boston Celtics are reportedly working on sending big man Daniel Theis to the Chicago Bulls for center Moritz Wagner according to NBC Boston’s K.C. Johnson.
While details of the trade are still sparse, at minimum it appears to be a deal to get under the luxury tax reached earlier in the day with the trade for Orlando Magic shooting guard Evan Fournier. Wagner, a 23-year-old, 6-foot-11 big man who last played for the Washington Wizards, is averaging 7.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game this season in 15 minutes of playing time, and will slot into a more traditional role as the team’s third big if dealt for.
The deal may also end up having been expanded to three teams with Javonte Green also heading to Chicago, per Jones.
Stay tuned as this breaking news develops.
The Bulls are in talks to trade Mo Wagner to the Celtics for Daniel Theis, per sources. Working it to deadline. Not official yet.
