Report: Cardinals allow DeAndre Hopkins to seek trade

Report: #Cardinals allow DeAndre Hopkins to seek trade:

It continues to look more and more like DeAndre Hopkins will be traded by the Arizona Cardinals. It just remains to be seen if the Buffalo Bills truly have any sort of interest at all.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, Arizona is allowing Hopkins to search for a trade partner himself.

Is Buffalo one of them? If you ask Bills general manager Brandon Beane, he’s probably going to say no. But who knows.

On Monday from the NFL owners’ meetings, Beane addressed the idea of trading for Hopkins and pumped the brakes a bit.

“What I would say is… social media is social media. Don’t take that too far,” Beane said.

Even so, it is the “smokescreen” time of the year. The Bills could very well not trade for Hopkins, but Beane won’t want other teams to know what he’s thinking regardless.

On Hopkins, Cards Wire notes that there are reportedly five teams interested in trading for Hopkins.

The wideout has been named an All-Pro receiver five times in his career, including three first-team nods.

Hopkins, who will turn 31 in June, has four seasons over the 100-catch mark and another with 96. Hopkins has hit the double-digit touchdown mark three times, including 13 in 2017, which led the NFL.

Hopkins began his career in Houston as the Texans’ first-round pick in 2013 and was there until he was traded to Arizona in 2020.
