Report: All 30 NBA teams to participate in study for coronavirus antibodies

The Brooklyn Nets and the other 29 NBA teams are expected to take part in a study that tests for COVID-19 antibodies.

As the NBA tries to inch closer to a return — with some state governors expressing their desire to see professional sports come back — the league is doing everything it can to league as much as possible about the novel coronavirus, while taking the proper precautionary measures with players now being allowed to work out at team facilities in cities that have begun to open up.

With the Minnesota Timberwolves leading the charge alongside a Minnesota academic medical center, the Mayo Clinic, all 30 NBA teams are expected to participate in a study that “aims to establish what percentage of NBA players, coaches, executives and staff have developed antibodies to the coronavirus,” according to Malika Andrews of ESPN.

This will help the NBA “identify which people might have a lower risk of contracting COVID-19.”

According to Andrews, it’s expected the study is will be completed in June.
