Christian Barmore’s reason for missing Friday’s practice revealed

There was initial concern when New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore was absent from practice on Friday.

However, the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed quelled those concerns with his reported reasoning for Barmore’s absence.

The defensive tackle returned to practice for the first time this season on Thursday after being diagnosed with blood clots over the summer. Coach Jerod Mayo indicated that there was a chance the Alabama product could play on Sunday when the team takes on the Los Angeles Rams.

Barmore has not played in a game since the season finale against the New York Jets last season. Per Kyed, Barmore sat out the practice as part of a “ramp-up period as he weans off blood thinners.”

Barmore was officially activated from the non-football illness list on Saturday, which frees him up to play in the Week 11 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

The Patriots’ defense will undoubtedly be energized by his return, as they look to build off their solid performance last week against the Chicago Bears.
