Maybe cutting DJ Swearinger this week wasn’t the best idea. The Raiders let the veteran safety go this week after the Raiders defense surrendered 35 points in just over three quarters of play against the Titans.

The plan was to move Daryl Worley over from the cornerback spot to play safety. That plan may not happen now because it Worley has a neck injury that had him miss practice all week. He is officially questionable and Jon Gruden added that Worley is ‘very questionable’ against the Jaguars.

“Obviously that won’t happen,” Gruden said of Worley playing safety this week. “I’ll keep those plans, like our other plans, under wraps for a while.”

Worley’s snaps at corner figure to be filled by Nevin Lawson while the snaps at safety alongside Erik Harris figure to fall to special teams player Dallin Leavitt and Curtis Riley.

Riley has not played well in his few snaps at safety this season, including against the Bengals a month ago while Swearinger was acclimating to Paul Guenther’s defense. Leavitt hasn’t seen a single snap on defense all season long.
