Projecting Titans’ starting defense ahead of Week 1

Our projection for how the Titans’ starting defense will look in Week 1.

The Tennessee Titans’ defense was thrown a major curveball this week after the team’s sack leader from 2021, and one of its most important pieces overall, outside linebacker Harold Landry, suffered a torn ACL.

Now, the Titans are faced with the unenviable task of having to fill Landry’s shoes, which will be incredibly difficult to do, especially with the injury coming so close to the start of the season.

Prior to Landry’s injury, the biggest question mark was at cornerback, where 2021 first-round pick Caleb Farley and 2022 second-round pick Roger McCreary competed during the offseason.

McCreary certainly gave Farley a run for his money, but did he do enough to secure the starting spot opposite Kristian Fulton going into Week 1?

Here’s a look at how we think things will shake out there, and for the rest of the defense when the regular season begins on Sept. 11 (note: included in this projection is the slot cornerback, hence there are 12 players listed).
