Players react to Bucks winning NBA Finals in six games over Suns

Antetokounmpo was named the NBA Finals MVP after erupting for 50 points to lead the Bucks to their first championship since 1971.

On Tuesday, Giannis Antetokounmpo erupted for 50 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 105-98 win over the Phoenix Suns and claim their first championship since 1971.

Antetokounmpo was unanimously named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player.

He joined Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to be named the MVP, Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and All-Star Game MVP in their careers. Antetokounmpo did so in just his eighth season with Milwaukee.

Antetokounmpo finished the contest by converting on 16-of-25 shot attempts from the field, including 17-of-19 from the free-throw line. He became just the seventh player in history to record at least 50 points in an NBA Finals game.

After trailing the Suns 2-0 to begin the series, the Bucks reeled off four consecutive wins to complete their comeback win. They became just the third team to lose the first two games in the NBA Finals and then win the next four games.

The comeback win by the Bucks earned widespread praise from fans and NBA players alike. Immediately following their victory, players took to social media to offer their praise and congratulations.
