PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers hosted an old friend in Ben Simmons on Tuesday when the Brooklyn Nets paid a visit to the Wells Fargo Center. This one was expected to be a blowout loss considering who was on the other side for the Nets, but the Sixers had other plans.
Philadelphia received production from just about everybody and pulled off a shocker of a win, 115-106. Considering the Sixers were without Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey and lost Matisse Thybulle in the second half, this looked like a loss. Simmons had 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting, 11 assists and seven rebounds.
Tobias Harris had 24 points and six rebounds, De’Anthony Melton had 22 points. Georges Niang had 16 points and five rebounds. Shake Milton added 16 points, six assists and five rebounds. Paul Reed was a big help with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Montrezl Harrell had six points and seven rebounds as the starter.
