Pistons fans absolutely loved Isaiah Stewart’s trash-talk vs. Lakers

The Pistons rookie was involved in a couple of verbal altercations with the Lakers en route to a 107-92 victory.

Detroit Pistons rookie Isaiah Stewart often brings immense energy and effort every night, and that was once again on display on Thursday during a 107-92 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Stewart produced eight points and six rebounds, while he also made a number of hustle plays during his 21 minutes of work off the bench. He brought a competitive edge to the floor, playing very physical with the Lakers’ frontcourt and even getting into a few verbal spats with players.

The 16th overall pick didn’t back down from the challenge, and continued to go back and forth with the likes of Markieff Morris and Montrezl Harrell. On one sequence, Stewart and Harrell were hit with technical fouls, while Stewart even started chirping at LeBron James at one point.

Those confrontations, as Stewart said, were controlled on his part.

“There is definitely a switch you have to be able to control,” Stewart said after the game. “It’s a switch I have. I know when to turn it on and when to turn it off.”

The aggressive showing by Stewart certainly didn’t go unnoticed by Pistons fans throughout the course of the game. They seemingly loved that their rookie wasn’t backing down, and took to social media to let everyone know about it.
