PHOTOS: Highlights from Florida baseball’s regional-winning victory over Texas Tech

Here are a handful of highlights from Florida baseball’s season-saving win on Monday.

Florida baseball defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 6-0, on Monday to advance to its first super regional since 2018. It was the second win in three tries for the Gators versus Tech after the Red Raiders stole the first game on Saturday in a late-inning heartbreaker, 5-4.

The Orange and Blue bounced back on Sunday with a win over the Connecticut Huskies in the early game before evening things up with Texas Tech in the second game, 7-1. That set up a winner-takes-all matchup early afternoon on Monday, in which Kevin O’Sullivan’s squad prevailed to advance to the super regionals.

Florida spread out 11 hits throughout the day and stranded seven baserunners against opposing starter Jacob Rogers, who was decent through three innings but surrendered Wyatt Langford’s first dinger of the day. Ryan Slater made his third start of the season for the Gators and worked through five innings for the Gators without giving up a run.

The bullpen came through strong for UF while TT’s pitching staff finally ran out of gas following a long weekend of play. Brandon Neely retired five in a row before walking pinch hitter Ty Coleman on a full count. He got Drew Woodcox to strike out and end it, continuing Florida’s postseason run.
