Florida baseball survived a first-round scare in the Southeastern Conference Tournament on Tuesday when the South Carolina Gamecocks took the Gators into extra innings before relenting to the Orange and Blue, 2-1. UF ultimately won the single-elimination game in a rematch of the preview weekend’s three-game series thanks to a [autotag]Colby Halter[/autotag] sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning to walk it off.

[autotag]Brandon Sproat[/autotag] got the start on the bump and spun 8 1/3 innings of one-run ball on four hits and a walk while striking out seven Gamecocks batters, carrying a no-hitter into the seventh inning. South Carolina finally broke through in the ninth after reliever Ryan Slater was brought in to try to force a ground ball for a double play. A runner ended up crossing the plate, but the Gators won the game.
