It was quite a rookie season for Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco, who went from being a late-round selection in the NFL draft out of Rutgers to winning the Super Bowl.
Anyone who watched Pacheco at Rutgers during his All-Big Ten career had little doubt that the south Jersey prospect would make it in the NFL. Few, however, thought that he would make this big of an impact as a rookie.
Pacheco finished the season with 1,027 rushing yards and six total touchdowns.
A seventh round pick, Pacheco outperformed all expectations in his first season with the Chiefs. By midseason, he had secured the starting running back job in addition to making a solid contribution as the Chiefs’ kickoff returner.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Pacheco had won the Mack Lee Hill Award as voted on by his teammates in Kansas City. The award honors the top rookie on the Chiefs’ roster.
