Penn State offers Class of 2024 running back from Virginia

Penn State puts Virginia running back in the Class of 2024 on the radar with offer.

Penn State is a program that will make a solid effort every recruiting cycle to grab some of the best athletes it can find from the state of Virginia, and the Class of 2024 will be no exception to that rule. One of the recent offers handed out by Penn State following a junior day recruiting event on campus this weekend, Class of 2024 running back [autotag]Peyton Lewis[/autotag] became the latest recruiting target from Virginia for the Nittany Lions.

Lewis announced on his Twitter account he received a scholarship offer from Penn State. Penn State is the fourth Power 5 offer on the books for Lewis, who has already been offered by a pair of ACC programs, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Lewis also holds offers from two other in-state programs, Liberty and Old Dominion. Boston College has also reportedly submitted a scholarship offer.

Lewis is not currently rated by 247Sports at this stage of the recruiting process. The 6-1 190-pound running back from Salem, Virginia will be a prospect to keep tabs on as more recruiting information and scouting is conducted. It is also too early to gauge where Penn State stands in the recruiting process, although he did have very complimentary things to say following his offer and scholarship offer in an interview with Nittany Sports Now.

Penn State is definitely going to be a hard place to pass up,” Lewis said to Nittany Sports Now writer Mike Vukovcan.

We’ll see if that opportunity does prove to be too much to pass up.

Penn State’s Class of 2024 is currently ranked no. 21 in the nation by the 247Sports composite team rankings at this early stage in the recruiting process. But the Nittany Lions have just two commitments on the board at this moment as well.
