Patrick Mahomes is officially going to be Kansas City Chief for a very long time, as he and the team agreed to a 10-year extension on Monday that is reportedly worth more than $400 million.
Mahomes, of course, led the Chiefs to Super Bowl title last February when he was able to rally the team back in the fourth quarter and beat the 49ers in Miami.
Now he’s looking forward to brining more Super Bowl trophies to Kansas City while making a ton of money in the process. The money is deserved because Mahomes is a ridiculous talent who should only get even better, which is crazy to think about.
Moments after the team made the deal official, Mahomes released this hype video in which he praised Chiefs fans for all their support and he ended with a message about becoming a dynasty.

By the way, here are some details on the deal:
Compensation update: Patrick Mahomes’ 10-year extension is worth $450 million, sources tell ESPN.
The injury guarantee is $140 million, per source.
The contract does not contain language that ties its value to a percentage of the salary cap.
Richest deal in sports’ history.
