New Saints Row trailer reveals staggeringly in-depth customization options

Volition is letting fans tailor almost everything to a ludicrous degree.

Self-expression is important, so it’s good that Saints Row’s new trailer encourages everyone to be themselves. Or a hoverboard-riding golf pro in thigh highs, whatever floats your boat!

On Wednesday, Volition released the Saints Row Ultimate Customization trailer. Fans were expecting a lot from those teases last week, and there’s no question that video certainly lives up to its name!

Saints Row will let fans customize virtually everything about themselves. Want to be a high fantasy Legolas-like elf with gold grills? No problem. How about some chef in nothing but heels and a checkerboard apron? Also possible.

Check out the trailer below to see how flexible Saints Row is.

The right character creator can be loads of fun, and the Saints Row series is well-known for having one of the best. It’s not just your in-game avatar that’ll be tweakable, though. Your vehicles, hideout, crew, and loads more are all customizable. So basically, everything that longtime series fans care about — I mean, there are tons of teeth options, for goodness sake!

We’ll find out if Volition nails this reboot when Saints Row comes out on Aug. 22, 2022, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store.

At UFC Fight Night 205, Jessica Andrade looks to reestablish 115 standing, while Amanda Lemos aims to catapult

Jessica Andrade is returning to the strawweight division looking to become a two-time champion, but Amanda Lemos is in her way.

LAS VEGAS – [autotag]Jessica Andrade[/autotag] is returning to the strawweight division looking to become a two-time champion and to do that, she’ll have to first get past streaking [autotag]Amanda Lemos[/autotag].

Andrade (22-9 MMA, 13-7 UFC) and Lemos (11-1-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) meet Saturday in the UFC Fight Night 205 main event at the UFC Apex, with the matchup serving as a big opportunity for both Brazilian women.

For Andrade, it’s about reestablishing herself as a force at 115 pounds after a three-fight stint as a flyweight in which she went 2-1, with her loss to champion Valentina Shevchenko. The move back down might not work in favor of Andrade, who remains No. 1 in the official UFC women’s flyweight rankings but unranked at strawweight.

“I wouldn’t say it would be quicker at strawweight (to reach a title shot), because I was already No. 1 at flyweight, and it’s a much tougher competition overall,” Andrade said at Wednesday’s media day through an interpreter. “I think the level of competition at strawweight is still quite ahead of the flyweight division. At the end of the day, I’m a strawweight. I’m gonna perform my best at strawweight. … Strawweight is my optimum weight.”

Lemos, meanwhile, is ranked No. 10 in the official UFC strawweight rankings after a five-fight winning streak that includes three finishes, although her most recent victory was a split decision against Angela Hill last December. Lemos said she didn’t hesitate at the opportunity to fight Andrade in a headlining spot given her pedigree. It’s the kind of fight that could catapult her.

“Very happy with the opportunity to be in the main event and fight a former champion like Jessica,” Lemos said through an interpreter. “I’m just focused and again just very happy. It’s a different fight, yes, definitely. …

“Right away, as soon as they offered, I just accepted right on the spot. I knew it was gonna be a great fight and great opportunity for me to move up in the rankings.”

Andrade, who now lives in Las Vegas, is excited to fight after benefiting from the resources at the UFC Performance Institute. She acknowledged Lemos’ counter-striking ability, something that should make her proceed with caution in her forward attack.

A win over Lemos would put Andrade back on the radar at 115 pounds, but she’s also ready to climb her way back if she wouldn’t earn a ranking too high.

“I know that a regular win over Amanda should put me at No. 10. Rankings are kind of weird. You never know what’s gonna happen,” Andrade said. “I think that maybe a very dominant win could push me a little bit higher because when I left strawweight, I was No. 2. I know that I’m coming back, and I have to climb the ladder back up again, so I’m fine if I get the 10 spot if I win. It’s only fair. But who knows?

“Or maybe if I get a proper, dominant win maybe I will get pushed a little bit higher. You never know. The only thing that I can guarantee is that I’m ready and doing all the work to get back to reclaim my title.”

How a Deebo Samuel trade might affect 49ers NFL draft plans

The #49ers’ draft plans got a significant shake up with the Deebo Samuel trade request.

[mm-video type=video id=01g13yxacx19j2mw4ear playlist_id=01eqbxacb60r3mr0ac player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01g13yxacx19j2mw4ear/01g13yxacx19j2mw4ear-ef789c3db5185af235c7fdb294cdf23b.jpg]

The 49ers had a sizable wrench thrown into their offseason plans when wide receiver Deebo Samuel requested a trade. With about a week left until the NFL draft, moving on from the All-Pro wide receiver changes the dynamic of San Francisco’s 2022 draft in two significant ways.

First, assuming the deal happens before the first round of the draft on April 28, they’d have additional capital to work with this year. They don’t pick until No. 61, and any deal for Samuel would likely mean at least one selection prior to that. The team may even require a first-round pick in order to pry the star receiver away from them.

Having a first-round choice would dramatically alter how the team could attack this year’s draft, and their priorities could shift with more premium talent available to them that early in the draft.

Priorities and team needs are the second thing that gets altered in a Samuel deal. Losing Samuel would launch wide receiver to the top of a list of 49ers’ draft needs.

They’ll still need help on the offensive line and in the secondary, but they have bodies at those two spots who could conceivably work for a season. At wide receiver they’d be extremely thin without Samuel atop the depth chart.

With Samuel gone, Brandon Aiyuk would be their No. 1 receiver. Jauan Jennings would be No. 2, and after that it’s a huge question mark. As good as Jennings was to close last year, the 49ers wouldn’t want to go into a year with him as the No. 2 WR on the roster.

Assuming they’d fetch a first-round choice for Samuel, it’s hard to believe they wouldn’t go find his replacement with that pick even if the player isn’t a one-for-one replacement for him.

Even if they don’t get a deal done they could push receiver up their list of priorities knowing a deal may come down eventually. It’d make sense for them to add a player at the position anyway given the lack of quality depth, but now they have to strongly consider it if a good WR prospect falls to them at No. 61.

The draft has mostly gone by the wayside this offseason with the 49ers holding no first-round pick and the Jimmy Garoppolo saga overshadowing everything. Now it could get very, very interesting.

Which Oklahoma Sooners made ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller’s top 300 for the 2022 NFL draft?

As the 2022 NFL Draft approaches ESPN Draft Analyst Matt Miller released his top 300 prospects with nine Oklahoma Sooners making the cut.

Draft season is about to come to a close when the 2022 NFL draft kicks off next Thursday night. The Oklahoma Sooners will be well-represented over the three day event with anywhere from six to 10 players getting their name called.

Over the last few weeks we’ve looked at where Dane Brugler of The Athletic has the Sooners draft prospects ranked in his draft guide “The Beast” and where they went in his full seven-round mock draft.

CBS Sports followed that up with their own seven-round mock draft and as many as seven Sooners were selected in each of the pre-draft projections.

It’s that time of year where teams and analysts finalize their big boards. What’s notable with Oklahoma prospects is the diversity of thought that’s come to pass on certain prospects. Others have seen a decline or rise in value. In particular it feels like Nik Bonitto and Perrion Winfrey have settled into a mid second to early third round picks.

Brian Asamoah and Isaiah Thomas on the other hand have a wide range of potential outcomes depending on how the draft falls.

Delarrin Turner-Yell looks to have made himself a draftable asset with his work in meetings with teams. His name continues to pop up in rankings and mock drafts. He might be a late-round selection, but he’ll get picked.

Today, we’re taking a look at ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller’s Top 300 prospects for the 2022 NFL draft. Nine Sooners were  ranked inside his top 300.

Alabama Football: Former 4-star DL enters NCAA transfer portal

The former 4-star prospect from 2018 has entered the transfer portal.

Former four-star defensive line prospect from the 2018 recruiting class, Stephon Wynn, has entered the NCAA transfer portal, Matt Zenitz of On3 reports.

Wynn made a few appearances since joining the Crimson Tide. In 18 total games played over three seasons, he has recorded 13 tackles.

Originally from South Carolina, Wynn chose to commit to the Crimson Tide over offers from other high-profile programs such as Georgia, Clemson, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and others.

There’s no telling exactly where he may land now, considering he is nearly four years removed from his original recruiting days.

With limited eligibility remaining, Wynn will likely look to join a program in need of a big defensive lineman capable of stopping the run. Playing time will likely be a major factor in his decision.

He stands at 6-4, 307 pounds and can be a big, physical presence at the line.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Wynn as he goes through the transfer portal process.

Vinny Curry returns to Jets after losing 2021 season to blood disorder

DL Vinny Curry is returning to the Jets after losing his 2021 season to a rare blood disorder.

Vinny Curry is returning to the Jets.

New York signed the defensive lineman on Wednesday. Curry, 33, signed with the Jets last offseason, but he lost his entire 2021 campaign to complications stemming from a rare blood disorder.

Curry revealed the issue last August. At the time, he shared that the disorder was discovered by team doctors in July. The diagnosis required the removal of his spleen, but Curry was supposed to return in mid-September. However, blood clots formed during his recovery, which forced him to go on blood thinners. That prevented Curry from sustaining physical contact for the next three to six months, he wrote in a social media post.

Curry vowed to play again in 2022. The Jets waived him from the non-football injury list in January, but they’re now taking him up on his promise to take the field again.

“I’m back, baby,” Curry said in a video posted to New York’s Twitter account. “I’m ready to take flight and kick some [expletive] on the way. Let’s go!”

Curry previously spent seven years in Philadephia and one in Tampa Bay. A Neptune, New Jersey native, he has 32.5 sacks for his career. Curry tallied three sacks as a rotational defender with the Eagles in 2020.
