Packers rookie WR Christian Watson has 5 TDs in 5 days

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Christian Watson is averaging a touchdown every day since Sunday night

When the Green Bay Packers traded up to land North Dakota State wide receiver Christian Watson in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft, they were hoping to get a game-changing pass-catcher who could be a consistent big-play threat for Aaron Rodgers.

The first half of Watson’s rookie campaign was marred by injury and inconsistency, but the last two games have been a breakout of monumental proportions, giving a glimpse of his lofty potential.

Watson caught three touchdown passes from Rodgers in Sunday night’s overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys, then caught two more Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans.

Yep, that’s five touchdown receptions in five days.

Watson now leads all rookie receivers in the NFL with those five scores, and he’s clearly developing chemistry with his future Hall of Fame quarterback.

Not bad for a guy who was already written off as a bust by far too many after a slow start to his first NFL season.
