Oklahoma is doing battle with Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship Game attempting to win a sixth straight conference title.
With a 7-0 lead, on the first play of the second quarter, freshman quarterback Spencer Rattler connected on a 45-yard touchdown pass to fellow freshman wide reciever Marvin Mims.
The touchdown was Mims’ eighth of the season, which sets a new freshman record for receiving touchdowns by a Sooner.

He broke the record previously held by Mark Andrews and CeeDee Lamb who both had seven touchdown receptions in their freshman seasons – although in more total games. Both of those guys are now making plays on Sundays in the NFL.
Oklahoma currently holds a 14-0 lead on the Cyclones in the second quarter.
