Oklahoma football: OU becomes second top-5 team to lead by 21 points and lose since 2004

Oklahoma experienced deja vu on Saturday, losing to unranked Kansas State for the second straight year.

The loss made OU just the second Top-5 team to lead by 21 points and lose since the 2004 season.

Down seven starters due to COVID-19, Kansas State scored 31 second-half points to come from behind and stun the Sooners 38-35 on their home turf.

Spencer Rattler threw three interceptions, and finished 30-for-41 passing for 387 yards with four touchdowns.

Kansas State quarterback Skylar Thompson finished with four touchdowns, three of which came on the ground. This was his first game with over 300 passing yards.

The Sooners fell from No. 3 to 18 in the AP Poll following the loss.

Oklahoma now looks to their first road contest of the season versus Iowa State on Saturday.
