The Oklahoma City Thunder returned to the court Wednesday night to play against the Phoenix Suns.
Well, sort of.
In an NBA 2K20 game against the Phoenix Suns that was streamed on the Suns’ Twitch channel, the Thunder blew a 19-point first-quarter lead and lost 75-65.
Since the NBA season was suspended, the Suns have been playing out their schedule on NBA 2K20 and streaming on Twitch.
On Wednesday, instead of the regularly-scheduled hardwood matchup between Phoenix and OKC, the two teams took to the gaming console.
Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds faced off against Miami Dolphins defensive end Shaq Lawson.
Lawson scored the first 15 points of the game, but he was unable to hold onto the lead as Edmonds outscored the Thunder 22-7 in the second quarter.
Phoenix pulled ahead and closed it out.
Thunder point guard Chris Paul had 12 points and 10 assists and guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a team-high 17 points.
Four Oklahoma City starters scored in double-digits.
As for the Suns, shooting guard Devin Booker had a game-high 19 points to go with five assists and center Deandre Ayton had 17 points and 16 rebounds.
It may not be the basketball we’re all waiting for, but video game hoops is better than nothing at all.
