The Irish have a solid recent success recruiting in Ohio but their luck may be changing with some of the best prospects in state. They missed out on Sonny Styles, brother of Lorenzo, in last years class.
Today, the Irish missed out on another top Ohioan as offensive lineman Luke Montgomery committed to in-state power Ohio State this afternoon. The Irish were in his final group, but were unable to reel in one of the best lineman in the country. Montgomery choose the Buckeyes out of an impressive list of offers which included Alabama, USC, Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia and others.
The 2023 Irish class is still strong, still ranked as one of the best, if not the best early on in the cycle but unfortunately they won’t be adding Montgomery to the group.
