The Ducks face a potential trap game on Saturday night against the Cougars. Here’s how we expect things to go down.

The Continued Anthony Brown Conversation

Question: We saw a little bit of regression from Anthony Brown last week, especially in the first half. Do you think that’s something that we should be worried about, or are you willing to blame it largely on the weather in Seattle?

Neel: I’m not worried about AB. At this point in the season, we know exactly what we can expect from him, and it involves about 75% of good play, 20% of bad play, and 5% of great play. That’s what we saw against Washington, and it’s what I expect to see going forward. As long as the defense is as stout as we’ve seen recently, it shouldn’t be a killer for Oregon.

Smalley: Brown did get off to a bad start with that interception, but after that, he was pretty good and made the appropriate plays. The weather played a huge part in last week’s game. He was the ultimate game manager. I don’t think he regressed. It was just what that particular game called for. I expect Brown to throw the ball a normal amount of times against the Cougars.

Patton: Mostly the weather and Washington’s strong secondary. Brown is still up-and-down, and I don’t think he can be counted on as a super reliable threat a la Mariota or Herbert, but this should be a nice bounceback game for him at home against a less-heralded defense.
