There are a few Super Bowl traditions that will stand the test of time. An elaborate national anthem (this time from Reba McEntire). Someone like Post Malone singing “America the Beautiful.” And, of course, an elaborate new score bug.
As the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers kicked off Super Bowl 58, CBS — the broadcaster of the game — debuted an all-new scorebug. If you’ve followed the NFL all year long, particularly on CBS, this might be a rather jarring development for you. (Or maybe you actually enjoy new broadcast creative decisions!)
But hey, we’ve all got to keep things fresh from time to time.

I honestly can’t tell if people don’t like the scorebug or if it’s more of a reaction to seeing something new during the biggest game of the year. At any rate, football fans were divided on whether the score bug looked good.
