NFL Draft order: How many QBs will be selected in the Top 5?

Just about every top-five team should consider drafting a quarterback.

Trevor Lawrences is almost definitely going to be a Jacksonville Jaguar. The Jags clinched a worst-place finish, which means they’ll pick at No. 1 overall in the draft. That’s where Lawrence should be available, so long as he declares for the draft, which he’s almost definitely going to do. The Jaguars are on the clock — a franchise-altering prospect is almost theirs.

Then what?

The New York Jets have clinched the second-overall pick. The Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins (by way of the Houston Texans’ pick from the Laremy Tunsil trade) and Cincinnati Bengals — all teams with four wins or fewer — are slated to select after that.

And then there are four five-win teams (the Philadelphia Eagles, the Detroit Lions, the New York Giants, the Carolina Panthers, the Denver Broncos). They all have a shot at a top-five pick, depending upon the results from Week 17. But the chances vary significantly, with the Broncos at a .3% chance of getting a top five pick while the Eagles’ chances stand at 40.6%.

Let’s look at who is slated to pick in the top five with one week left to play.
