In this time without live sports due to the coronavirus pandemic, sports bettors across the world are likely going mad. However, it’s important to note that any gambler knows that they can bet on anything.
One of the major betting events that’s on our sports horizon is the NFL Draft, and handicapping where players might land. A recent wave of draft odds has come out from our partners at Bet MGM, and some teams are heavy favorites to land certain players, while other teams may be hoping for a bad beat of kinds. Let’s take a look at some of the most interesting odds.
Team to Draft Tua Tagovailoa:
- Dolphins: -125
- Chargers: +250
- Redskins: + 275
- Colts: +1800
- Raiders: +2000
- Lions: +2000
Two incredibly interesting notes are the Redskins at +275, and the Lions at +2000. Some other betting sites, like Caesars Sportsbook, have the Lions tied with the Dolphins for the best overall odds, at +105. It is also increasingly clear that if the Redskins don’t draft Chase Young, they will rather trade the pick away, not draft Tua.
Second Overall Pick:
- Chase Young: -268
- Tua Tagovailoa: +180
- Joe Burrow: +2500
- Justin Herbert: +3500
- Isaiah Simmons: +5000
- Jeff Okudah: +1400
Obviously, Young is the heavy favorite, and he will likely be the second pick off the board, no matter who holds the pick. The only two scenarios in which this isn’t the case are if A) the Cincinnati Bengals somehow pass up on Burrow with the first pick, or B) a team trades with the Redskins in order to draft Tua. Aside from that happening, it is virtually a guarantee that Young is the second player off the board.
First Tight End Drafted:
Cole Kmet: -132
Adam Trautman: +450
Brycen Hopkins: +800
Thaddeus Moss: +1200
Hunter Bryant: +1200
Kmet has taken over as the heavy favorite to be the first TE off the board in April, and many expect the Notre Dame product to be drafted somewhere in the second or third round. This is something to watch for any Washington fan, as they will likely be one of the first or second teams to draft a TE. They don’t have a second-round pick, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see them use their third-rounder on a big pass-catcher.
