NFL approves alternate helmets for throwback uniforms: How that impacts the Eagles

The Eagles haven’t worn kelly green jerseys as their primary uniform since they switched to midnight green in the mid-1990s, but things could be about to change.

For years, the Eagles and their fans couldn’t understand why the ‘Kelly Green’ uniforms couldn’t be used as an alternate jersey.

The reason was an NFL rule that allowed just one helmet per player for safety and quality control reasons.

Now according to Adam Schefter, fans could finally be getting everything they’ve desired for 20-years.

The Eagles’ helmets are midnight green and owner Jeffrey Lurie didn’t want midnight green helmets and kelly green jerseys on his players.

Now with the new rule passing for 2022, the Kelly Green is back.
