There were questions about whether LSU would see any of its players selected during Friday’s Day 2 of the 2022 NFL draft, but the team has now had two players selected.
The latest was cornerback [autotag]Cordale Flott[/autotag], who was picked by the New York Giants with the 81st overall pick in the third round. Flott declared for the draft following his junior season after starting 21 of the 35 games he appeared in during his three years in Baton Rouge.
Flott is the third LSU player off the board, joining cornerback [autotag]Derek Stingley Jr.[/autotag], who went third overall to the Houston Texans, and guard [autotag]Ed Ingram[/autotag], who was selected at No. 59 by the Minnesota Vikings.
Welcome to the squad, Cordale Flott 🤟

The Giants’ starting outside corner duo currently features James Bradberry and Adoree’ Jackson, but Flott will look to compete for reps in a secondary that lacks much depth.
Most mock drafts had Flott as a Day 3 pick, but like the player picked before him, he continues to overperform his value. Not many expected Stingley to be a top-five pick, and Ingram had been largely mocked outside of the top-three rounds.
This hasn’t been the most star-studded draft class the Tigers have seen in recent years, but they’ve now had three players picked in the first three rounds, and there’s a number of guys who should hear their names called during the final day of the draft on Saturday.
