At this point, everybody knows that Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant wants out. He has officially requested a trade from the organization and he is ready to move on to other opportunities to win another championship.
With that being said, the Nets are not going to move Durant just to move him. This is an all-time great player and the haul that Brooklyn is looking for is going to be massive if they can come to an agreement on a deal.
Durant is just letting the process play out as per Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes, he is not taking any recruiting pitches from stars around the league:
I will say this about Kevin Durant since he requested a trade, there has been numerous stars that I’ve spoken to. Numerous stars that have been trying to get in touch with him to pick his brain to see if he would consider other avenues. Just want to get a sense of what he’s thinking…KD has gone dark. He’s not talking to anybody. Not answering anybody’s phone calls, not responding to texts, KD has gone dark. The only time you see him get out into the sunlight is when he responds on Twitter and he’s not saying anything much on there aside from probably going going at a fan or something like that, but yeah, he’s gone dark. I guess he’s hoping this process plays out the way he wants to, but yeah, he’s pretty much not speaking with anybody right now aside from his inner circle.

This situation has the looks of something that will go deep into the summer and into training camp of the 2022-23 season. While Durant may want out, and governor Joe Tsai may be frustrated after a very tumultuous 2021-22 season, the Nets would rather have the superstar than not have him.
Nets legend Richard Jefferson suggested that Durant even just return to the team. He compared it to Kobe Bryant asking for a trade back in the day with the Los Angeles Lakers and it not working out. He returned to the Lakers and the rest is history. The Nets have a very good roster if everyone stays healthy. That if is probably the biggest in NBA history, however, and that is what the Nets are up against at the moment.
