Although they won’t be suiting up for the NBA Finals for the first time in five years, Warriors Wire is checking in with former members of Dub Nation during the championship series.
In 2020, Golden State’s 2015 Finals Most Valuable Player Andre Iguodala suited up for the Miami Heat against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite the Warriors Finals streak ending, Iguodala extended his individual run to six consecutive appearances in the Finals.
After eclipsing 25 minutes off the bench in the first two games of the series, Iguodala logged only 17 minutes in game three for Erik Spoelstra. During his time on the court, the veteran forward tallied two points on 1-of-2 shooting from the field with three assists and a rebound.
Despite Iguodala’s limited numbers, the Heat were able to check off their first win of the series behind a thrilling performance from Jimmy Butler. The Marquette product recorded a triple-double on 40 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds. Butler added two blocks and two steals to his massive triple-double effort.
Adding to Miami’s 115-104 game three victory, Tyler Herro and Kelly Olynyk each registered 17 points.
After two dominant games for the Lakers, Anthony Davis was held to only 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and zero blocks. James led the way for the Lakers with 25 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. However, it wasn’t enough to give the Lakers a 3-0 advantage in the series.
