Michael Jordan’s brand with the Tar Heels continues to grow as Mitchell & Ness is releasing a new UNC Shooting Shirt for sale.
The classic 1983-1984 Carolina blue shirt with Jordan’s name plastered on the back will be sold for $200 apiece. The authentic shirt is one of many UNC-branded Jordan items, giving fans a piece of the nostalgic look of 1983.
Jordan’s connection to North Carolina has been on full display this month, sending a special message to the 2023 graduating class, followed by the release of his Carolina blue, North Carolina Pantone-inspired race car that will be a part of Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The 1983-84 season was Jordan’s final chapter playing for UNC, eventually going 3rd overall to the Chicago Bulls following the season. In 1983-84, Jordan led the Tar Heels to a 14-0 record in the conference and No. 1 AP poll ranking. That season Jordan was named the Consensus Player of the Year after averaging 19.6 points and 5.3 rebounds.
