Mitch Roberts has committed to Tennessee rugby.

“Welcome to Rocky Top,” Tennessee announced Tuesday. “Mitch will join the Vols in the fall, continuing the strong history of Raptors choosing to play college rugby in orange and white.”

The 5-foot-8, 160-pound fly-half is from Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee. Roberts also plays for Raptor Rugby Club.

Tennessee won its third consecutive SCRC championship in 2022, defeating South Carolina, 27-22, on Nov. 12.

The 2022 campaign was the first for Tennessee under head coach Scott Tungay.

Tennessee won the 2021 national championship under head coach Marty Bradley. Bradley served as the Vols’ rugby head coach from 2011-21. He served as Tennessee’s assistant coach from 1996-2010 under head coach Butch Robertson.
