There was a bright spot over the weekend as a Philadelphia 76ers fan Alex Trindle went viral for finishing up her rounds of chemotherapy by ringing the Liberty Bell while rocking a Sixers sweatshirt. She caught the eye of Mike Scott who gave her some love on Twitter, but he and the team wanted to take it a step further.
In a zoom call with Trindle, set up by the Sixers’ social media team, Scott had an offer with the excited Sixers fan. Scott told her:
I saw that you rang the bell. So I was just thinking maybe in the future when the games come back and fans are allowed, maybe if you want to ring the bell before the game…Then we’ll get the win and after the game, you can ring the bell with us in the locker room and all that stuff too.
On Tuesday, @alex_trindle15 was a bell ringer in a different way.
She inspired us, so today we surprised her!#PhilaUnited pic.twitter.com/7I0KBIcmgE

What Trindle did can inspire other people so this is absolutely deserved. She battled through chemotherapy and she came out as a winner. In a time that is pretty dark right now, she can be a shining light right now. [lawrence-related id=30318,30310,30295]
