Penn State hasn’t played Northwestern since 2017 but that doesn’t mean there isn’t history between these teams.
Looking to the past is a great part of Penn State’s football program, so many great teams have been through State College and for the most part, they have handled Northwestern. Looking to the present though, Pat Fitzgerald has had moderate success against current coach [autotag]James Franklin.[/autotag]
James Franklin is 1-2 all-time against Pat Fitzgerald and his Northwestern Wildcats; a win this weekend would obviously bring him to an even record.
Both teams though appear to be in different spots as well. Northwestern is 1-3 after winning their opener in Ireland against Nebraska. Penn State started the season unranked and overlooked and now they sit 4-0 and are ranked 12th in the nation.
