LeBron James reacts to Championship congratulations from Barack Obama

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was excited to have the recognition of former President Barack Obama after winning the 2020 title.

44th President of the United States Barack Obama is probably the nation’s most famous basketball fan. He also counts himself as a friend of LeBron James so it should have been no surprise to see Obama, whom LeBron has leaned on for council before, congratulate James for taking home his 4th NBA Championship. Obama authored a heartfelt message to LeBron, which also included a nod to the incredible expectations LeBron came into the league with, being compared to all-time greats in NBA history before ever playing a game. All of that was included in the message from the former president to The King.

James was thrilled to get a shout out from his pal after still celebrating his championship.

James was excellent in the Finals, leading the Lakers to an NBA-best tying 17th championship while also taking home his 4th NBA Finals MVP.  LeBron averaged 29.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field and 42 percent from the 3-point line.
