LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo show respect to each other

Two of the NBA’s biggest superstars exchanged pleasantries and showed their mutual respect for each other.

LeBron James may not be the best player in the NBA anymore. In the minds of many, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is.

He has won two regular season MVPs and a Defensive Player of the Year award in the last four seasons. With the Bucks sporting the second-best record in basketball and a 12-game winning streak, he may very well win another MVP trophy this season.

When he and his team visited James’ Los Angeles Lakers last Thursday, he expressed his love and respect for the four-time world champ two days after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time career scoring record was surpassed.

During All-Star Saturday, James returned the favor on social media.

In some ways, Antetokounmpo is a younger, taller and leaner clone of James. His ability to cover the entire floor on the fast break with his long strides and Euro step moves is a little bit James, a little bit Julius Erving.

If the Lakers take care of business, perhaps Antetokounmpo and James will finally match up in the NBA Finals and give basketball fans a real treat for a fortnight in June.
