It almost felt too good to be true for much of Monday night’s game for the Los Angeles Lakers as they built double-digit leads throughout the game, reaching as high as 19 points in the second half, with LeBron James having a rough offensive game. But eventually, a 6-16 night from LeBron James as well as another 6-16 night from Anthony Davis was not enough for the Lakers to hold off a scrappy Golden State Warriors squad, 115-113.
LeBron James had a shot at the end of regulation to win the game with a 3-pointer but it rimmed off. James and the Lakers also had an opportunity with 10 seconds left and the ball following a missed layup by Steph Curry, but they were unable to capitalize in transition and ran nearly eight seconds off the clock. While the Lakers missed big shots late, Curry made more of his on his way to 26 points.
