Lakers plan to give players individual workout times during hiatus

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reports that the Los Angeles Lakers can workout, but only if they do so individually.

The Los Angeles Lakers and the rest of the NBA are still figuring out how to proceed during what will be at least a month-long hiatus in the NBA schedule. While there will be no games, causing an incredible economic impact on its own that will affect thousands of workers across the country who rely on income from working sporting events, making sure the players have the ability to workout is still a concern. And one way that the Los Angeles Lakers are trying to allow a bit of normalcy for their players will be scheduled workouts where players would not interact with one another.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported on Friday that the team will coordinate 1-on-1 workout sessions for players so that they can practice while still upholding social distancing recommendations from public health experts.

Utah Jazz All-Stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell have both tested positive for the coronavirus. Players on teams that have played the Jazz over the past few weeks have been recommended to self-quarantine.
