Lakers news: Anthony Davis could return in two weeks, LeBron in three

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Saturday night that the Lakers are not far away from full strength.

The Los Angeles Lakers don’t have to wait very long to get their superstars back in the lineup. While the Lakers shocked the basketball world last night by blowing out the Eastern Conference-leading Brooklyn Nets at Barclay’s Center, news broke that the Lakers could get at least one of their superstars back in the lineup before the end of the month.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported during Saturday night’s game that big man Anthony Davis could return to the floor within 10-to-14 days. Davis has been out since mid-February with a mix of Achilles tendinosis, which later resulted in a calf strain. But that’s not all. LeBron James is not far behind in his potential return from a high ankle sprain, which could come in three weeks, according to Woj’s sources.

So, the Lakers are coming off of their best win this season and their two newest additions look like they will be ready to contribute to a title defense. Once they get their stars back, talking about a title defense will be even more real. Also, the Lakers who have been playing deserve credit for keeping the Lakers in the top-six in the West where they can avoid the dreaded play-in tournament.
