Kentucky’s Chip Trayanum could return this week against Ole Miss

Kentucky running back Chip Trayanum has been cleared to play this week versus Ole Miss.

The 2024 Kentucky football season hasn’t gotten off to the start that they would have liked, and they’ve struggled against conference opponents. For running back Chip Trayanum, it has been even worse.

The Ohio State transfer was expected to be the starting running back for the Wildcats, but suffered a hand injury a few weeks before the season began. After four games, he still hasn’t seen the field, but he could be finally ready.

On Monday, coach Mark Stoops spoke on his radio show about Trayanum and his potential return.

We’ll see. We weren’t in pads today, but he’s cleared to go. We’ll see what type of strength he has in that hand — it was operated on, so we’ll see how he comes along and what he’s like here throughout the week.

It’s great news that Trayanum has been cleared to return. Hopefully, he’ll be on the field when Kentucky takes on Ole Miss this week. They’ll need the help against one of the top teams in the country.
